Genus name comes from the Greek words rhodo meaning rose and dendron meaning tree. Transferred from the Greek name for Nerium oleander. ‘Purple Splendour’ is a compact, bushy plant growing to 5-6 feet tall. It produces terminal clusters of rich purple flowers with a large black splotch.
